A friend made this for Bev on a recent visit.
It’s very good, give it try it!
- 2 cups grated Swiss or cheddar cheese (we just used a packaged blend)
- 1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp salt
- dash freshly ground pepper
- 1/2 T dry mustard
- 12 eggs, lightly beaten
Spread cheese on bottom of buttered shallow baking dish. Dot with butter. Mix cream & seasonings. Pour 1/2 of cream mixture over cheese. Add eggs & pour remaining cream on top. Bake @ 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
NOTE: the photo shows a 1/2 recipe in a 9 x 9 dish. We tried it another day in a slightly deeper dish and it was more creamy.
