A Simple Way to Improve Your Posture at Work
6
A lot of people struggle with posture at work, especially if they spend most of the day sitting.
The usual advice is to “sit up straight,” but that’s hard to maintain for long periods of time.
Instead of trying to hold one perfect position all day, it’s often more effective to change positions regularly.
One simple option is to sit on the edge of your chair for short periods.
That position makes it harder to slouch and naturally encourages a more upright posture. It also keeps you a little more aware of how you’re sitting.
It won’t be comfortable forever, and that’s fine.
You can alternate between sitting on the edge and your normal position throughout the day.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s reducing the amount of time spent in poor positions and giving your body some variety.
If you’re dealing with stiffness or pain from sitting and want a plan built around your body, stop by or reach out and we’ll take a look.
