Why You’re Tired at Night (Even When You’re Doing “Everything Right”)

A lot of people struggle with sleep even when they feel like they’re doing the right things.

They go to bed at a reasonable time.
They try to relax.
They cut caffeine.

But they’re still lying there, awake.

Or waking up in the middle of the night.

One common issue we see is this:

There’s no real transition from the day into sleep.

You can’t go from a full day of work, stress, screens, and stimulation… straight into bed and expect your body to just shut off.

You need a process that helps your system come down.

Some simple options:

  • Reading instead of scrolling
  • Light stretching
  • Epsom salt baths to relax muscles and calm the nervous system

But there’s one piece most people overlook.

Your body wants to cool down before sleep.

This is part of your natural circadian rhythm.

If your body temperature stays elevated, it’s much harder to fall asleep and stay asleep.

That’s why even something like a hot bath needs a second step.

Warm up → then cool down.

That could be:

  • A quick cool shower after
  • Lowering the room temperature
  • Using a fan or cooling bedding

It doesn’t have to be extreme.

Just enough to signal to your body that it’s time to shut things down.

If your sleep has been inconsistent, don’t overcomplicate it.

Start here.

Build a simple routine.
Create a clear transition.
Let your body do what it’s built to do.
